Blue 2022

This project is a portrait series created in collaboration with the Seattle Opera in response to the Libretto entitled “Blue” by Tazewell Thompson. These images are displayed at McCaw Hall, where the opera was performed. My hope here is to create a nuanced representation of a Black family not often depicted in mainstream media. These images feature, and strongly influenced by, local community members who are also committed to portraying more diverse and honest expressions. Makeup by Stacie Thomas.
