Week 21 | 52 Rolls in 52 Weeks

Two people making it happen at BGI are Julia Frost and John Gardner. I remember when Julia was a prospective student and when John Gardner took over the reigns as the dean. I could go on about how awesome they are respectively, but I'll just say they are both more about making things happen then talking about it..

Week 20 | 52 Rolls in 52 Weeks

I met Kathy Hattori in New York at a textiles conference. After we started talking, we realized we lived about 20 minutes from each other in Seattle. She does some really cool stuff around using organic colors and dyes for fabrics and other uses. She hopes to make exponential change by integrating sustainable and regenerative practices and materials throughout the entire supply chain.

Week 19 | 52 Rolls in 52 Weeks

After a little hassle at the border crossing, I had a great time in Vancouver, BC. Highlights included checking an art gallery in a converted house, having breakfast with Madeleine Shaw of Lunapads, and visiting the Museum of Anthropology.

Week 18 | 52 Rolls in 52 Weeks

I'm always intrigued when I come across this photo in Fremont. I finally was stuck at a red light long enough to focus and shoot. I have no idea what the story is behind this sculpture, but it's rich with expression and style. Looks like I have some research to do.
