A couple years ago I was having dinner with a couple of friends when one of them began talking about where they found inspiration. This sparked a larger conversation about inspiration. When the focus turned towards me I explained that, while I too find historical and contemporary figures very inspiring, I find my greatest inspiration from the people all around me all the time—volunteers, teachers, activists, artists, poets, and everyone else working to live the life they want while making the environment a better place for the communities around them. I left that night reflecting about that and thought about ways to share the stories of those I and others found innovative, interesting, and inspiring. This project emerged out of that reflection. What has since formed is a mixed media piece that is constantly shaped by the people participating in it.
