What's Your Book Recommendation

As an avid reader, when I come across something interesting I like to share those experiences here. Typically, I’m so focused on business, sociology, and marketing books I often don’t take the time to enjoy some of the fiction and fine literature that’s out there. I recently read Good Bless You Mr. Rosewater by Kurt Vonnegut and enjoyed it. What other recommendations do you have for me? I don’t care from what genre they come. What’s your favorite fiction book and why?

I just read "Somewhere Inside" by Lisa and Laura Ling. The book is about how the reporter Laura Ling was detained by North Korea after illegally trespassing into their country. Half is written from her perspective on and about her detainment and the other half is written by her sister Lisa Ling, who was advocating for her release. Lisa's story is really interesting because it gives you an inside perspective on the media, Washington, and the relationship between the two. Laura's story is really interesting because it gives you an inside perspective on how North Korea sees the U.S. and our culture(she becomes friends with North Koreans while she is detained).

I love this book and I think you will too. I learned so much from it and it was a good read! :o)

Thanks Erica,

I appreciate the recommendation! The book sounds very interesting and I've added it to my wish list. Once I get to it, I'll be sure to let you know what I think.
